A Bleeding Heart: Poetry of a Nurse was written with these and many other people in mind. Nati Carrillo's own life experiences guided her to write and illustrate this book of poems. She has learned human beings are made to suffer because it is through these experiences that we learn to love, to give, to sacrifice. We are stronger than we know, but it is through weakness that we grow. A Bleeding Heart says it's okay to endure pain and suffering, and someone out there is going through the same experiences. We grow together and learn to love more.
