Kaila (Kay-la) Covington is the quiet and naïve daughter of Pastor Kenneth Covington. While spending the weekend with her best friends Niki and Sandy, Kaila meets her first love, DeAngelo. Against her father's wishes, she gets involved in a relationship with DeAngelo and ends up living with him.  

A few years and a baby later, DeAngelo is addicted to drugs. His crack cocaine addiction and physical abuse ultimately cause Kaila to make some drastic changes. She meets an older co-worker, the beautiful and classy Shay James who becomes her mentor. Shay is seemingly very wealthy and introduces her to a life of fast money, men, and everything Kaila's father taught her not to do.  

While out at a nightclub, Kaila encounters an older and distinguished gentleman. Tank, who turns out to be a rich and popular drug kingpin, falls in love with Kaila and treats her completely different from the first boyfriend. Everything in Kaila's deceptive world is perfect until Tank goes to prison. Now she must decide what to do. Should she stay with the hustler and a life of crime, luxury and ease or go back to church...to innocence and holiness? Kaila prays and God answers her prayers in a way she never expected.
