The book contains Christian themes, poems about nature and his interpretation of the quality of people and their characteristics plus memorials to loved ones who have passed. "I believe that I am to share the wonderful attributes of God's creation in the beautiful ways that I received them so as to bless and edify those who read my poetry," says Addison. Also I pray that the Psalms of Joel would visually declare God's love that He has for each of us since we are "living letters" known and read by all men and God's workmanship, which in the Greek is poiema or poems, thus we are His love letters created in Christ Jesus unto good works. (2 Corinthians 3:2; Ephesians 2:10) NKJB Joel Addison was born on September 23, 1954 and has always had an affinity for nature. His mother and teachers said, "He sees things differently." As a young boy his grandfather, W. P. Addison, encouraged him to keep a record of his thoughts although, at the time, "wanting to play ball" seemed more important. After seeing the ease from which his poetry flowed off his pen and the pleasure it gave to his readers, he decided to pursue the gift whole heartedly. Addison worked with the Smyrna Fire Dept for 17 years and has done electrical work since he was 12. In between the two for the past 25 years he has stayed "instant in season" to write as inspired to do so combining an earlier work with many newer poems since. From President Reagan's desk at the White House to the replaced walls at the Pentagon and across the ocean to China; Addison's poetry has traveled and longs to lodge in any heart that will hear!
