Moses of Avaris
Robert T Evans
Moses of Avaris Part IV Son of Jethro covers the life of the prophet Moses from the time he left Egypt until the Passover. Sources for the book include The Bible, Pearl of Great Price (considered scripture by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), Works of Josephus, Book of Jasher and various documents on Egyptian history. Moses struggles with two issues. First: Should he accept the call from God to liberate Israel from Egypt, even though Israel rejected his leadership. Second: Should he raise an army to defeat Egypt or follow the advice of his mentor, Jethro Reuel of Midian, and confront the might of Pharaoh with only God at his back. Moses is presented as more human than traditional stories and includes material found in sources other than the Bible. The book is directed toward adults and mature youth. The author would rate the book as PG-13.
