It was just another blessed day for king and farmer alike in King Hiram's kingdom, yet the day turned to sadness and anger when Caleb, a God-fearing farmer, and his neighbor Nathan were called to the palace. In the new children's book by author Jim Alexander, Queen Hattiella's Choice, Caleb had found his milk cow Ruthiebell dead and Sweet Pea missing earlier that day, but later located Sweet Pea in Nathan's field. It then became farmer against farmer over Sweet Pea's ownership, which needed King Hiram's judgment. The king's unfair decree in favor of Nathan had Caleb in tears, but the clever Queen Hattiella had a solution to his problem. The outcome of the solution became a turning point for the king and queen also over doing what is right in situations. Queen Hattiella's Choice displays lessons in forgiveness, true love and honesty for young readers, in a Christian perspective.
