For some time now, Nigerian higher education has been the subject of scientific reflection. The first significant works on this topic were published in the 50s, 60s, and 70s of the previous century, that is, at the beginning of Nigerian independence. Nowadays, this issue still attracts its fair share of scholarly attention. An example of this interest is the book titled, Higher Education in Nigeria: Selected Aspects, which is the outcome of a collaborative effort by a group of Nigerian academics and the editor of this book, a Polish researcher. The book consists of seventeen papers prepared by twenty-four authors from eleven higher education institutions: Abia State University, the Cross River University of Technology, Imo State University, the Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Olabisi Onabanjo University, the University of Ado-Ekiti, the University of Ibadan, the University of Lagos, the University of Nigeria, the University of Uyo, and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. This diversity of tertiary institutions and multitude of the authors' viewpoints enrich the book's scope and make it a particularly useful source of knowledge about selected aspects of higher education in Nigeria.
