Publisher Marketing: The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. [6],60, [2]p.; 4 Contributor Bio: Palmer, Charles Charles Palmer has been bedeviled by slow horses all his life. Growing up with such luminaries as Anderson G who showed "tremendous potential" in training but, sadly, never could beat anybody on the race track; Palmer learned to be patient and endure. Those traits have been horse racing's principal contribution to his career and only contribution to his bank account. When not vainly rooting for slow horses, Palmer attended the University of Michigan Business School And Law School. He then went on to litigate various cases in the Mid-Michigan area including murder and personal injury cases. In 1988, Palmer became a professor at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School teaching Torts, Property, Contracts, Art Law, Pretrial Litigation, and numerous other legal subjects. He has also taught law in Melbourne, Australia; Hamilton, New Zealand; Florence, Italy; Barcelona, Spain; and London, England. But the horses have always had their allure. Palmer saw Secretariat win the Kentucky Derby, Sea the Stars win the Epsom Derby, and a passionate Italian kid win the Palio. He also climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and ran with the bulls in Pamplona. Palmer is the father of 3 sons; one of whom is the co-author of this book. They may be his greatest accomplishment.
